Dear Karen,

I suppose that a statistician knows something of statistics. What is
exactly what Lomborg uses in his book. And I suppose that a ship's officer
has to know something of climate, which is exactly what Daly does.

 From Daly, http://www.vision.net.au/~daly/dalybio.htm :
"Climate and climate change has been a lifelong study of mine since my
early days as a ship's officer in the British Merchant Navy. I have lived
through and traced the progress of the `ice age' scare of the 1970's, the
`nuclear winter' scare of the 1980s, and now the `global warming' scare of
the present. All these scares have advanced the interests of what was a
small academic discipline 30 years ago to become a mammoth global industry
today. It is my view that this industry has, through the `politics of fear'
which it has promoted, acted against the interests of the public."

And if you read more on his web site, you will see that more qualified
atmospheric and solar scientists have added fuel to the skeptics...
http://www.vision.net.au/~daly/barker/index.htm Slade Barker (former
director at the US Naval Oceanographic Office) about water/CO2 and
radiative forcing
http://www.vision.net.au/~daly/sun-enso/revisit.htm Dr. Landscheid, about
the induction of El Niņo by solar forces
http://www.vision.net.au/~daly/guests/tim-ball.htm Dr Tim Ball,
climatologist, about several natural climate points, ignored by the modellers.
http://www.vision.net.au/~daly/alaska/index.htm Jan Curtis, Alaska Climate
Research Center, about Alaskan singularities
http://www.vision.net.au/~daly/forcing/hug-barrett.htm Dr. Heinz Hugh and
Dr. Kack Barret, about the infrared absorbance of CO2
http://www.vision.net.au/~daly/tar-2000/summary.htm Dr. Vincent Gray, one
of the revisors of the IPCC TAR report(s)
http://www.vision.net.au/~daly/co2-conc/updated.htm Dr. Jarl Ahlbeck, prof.
Env. Technology, on CO2 and temperature
http://www.vision.net.au/~daly/dietze/cmodcalc.htm Ir. Peter Dietze
(chemistry), with CO2 absorbance calculations

And further, read the web site of D. Hoyt (climate scientist):
http://users.erols.com/dhoyt1/

And if I see that IPCC related qualified scientists try to fool people with
recoloring maps, you don't need to be a climate scientist to ask what kind
of qualification they have? See:
http://www.vision.net.au/~daly/USGCRP/index.htm

Sincerely,

Ferdinand Engelbeen
